Western Australian Government Grants

Looking for funding for your club or community group?

The 2010/11CSRFF funding round is now open. Applications are sought from not-for-profit sport, recreation or community groups and local government authorities seeking capital works grants to develop sport and recreation facilities.  These grants are made available by the Western Australian Government.

Key changes have been made to CSRFF for the 2010/11 round. These include:

  • An increase of the available funds from $9 million per year to $20 million per year;
  • Introduction of a development bonus, allowing up to 50% funding of the total project cost for projects that meet certain criteria (previously one third funding);
  • Introduction of two small grant rounds per year, for grants with a project cost of under $150,000, allowing quicker release of funds; and
  • Quarantining of a portion of the available funds for sustainability initiatives and non-metropolitan pool upgrades.

 Applicants must discuss their application with the Department of Sport and Recreation.  Guidelines on eligibility and application forms are available from metropolitan local government authorities, or if in regional areas, Department of Sport and Recreation regional offices.   Further information about CSRFF and relevant contact details (see attached contact list) are available from www.dsr.wa.gov.au.

Applications for small grants generally close with the relevant local government authority at 4.00pm on Friday, 31 July 2009. Applications for standard grants generally close with the relevant local government authority at 4.00pm, Wednesday, 30 September 2009.  Many local government authorities will close the application period sooner to accommodate council meeting schedules, so applicants must check for any variations to this date.
